May 13, 2013 On Monday, May 20, the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village kicks off the summer season with a celebration of Ukrainian dance and a new exhibit - Journey to Canada: Ukrainian Immigration Experiences 1891-1900. Festivities begin at noon with a brilliant display of Ukrainian dance and features family-friendly activities such as horse-drawn wagon rides, church services and more. Robert Henderson PoW Collection unveiled at RAM

May 2, 2013 The Royal Alberta Museum will help Albertans discover the little-known history of prisoners of war (PoWs) in our province through its recent acquisition of the Robert Henderson PoW Collection, which was unveiled May 2. The collection, gathered by private collector Robert Henderson over a period of 40 years, offers a glimpse into daily life for the more than 35,000 PoWs detained in Canada during the Second World War. April 26, 2013 On Friday, May 3, some amazing young Albertans will receive the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Citizenship Medal from His Honour, Col. (Ret'd) the Honourable Donald S. Ethell, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta. Created in 2002 as part of the celebrations honouring the 50th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II to the throne, the medal honours those who contribute to their communities through public service and voluntary endeavour.
