Rendez-vous de la Francophonie

The international day of the Francophonie
is celebrated annually on March 20 all around the world in more than 50 countries. Here in Canada, close to ten million
Francophones will get together for the Rendez vous de la Francophonie, a two-week celebration of French culture and history.
This year, celebrations of the 15th annual Rendez-vous de la Francophonie will have as their theme "Joie de vivre" placing
an emphasis on fun and good times. The 2013 festivities will start on March 8 and continue until March 24.
Alberta celebrates Francophonie all month long with activities starting with
Franco-Albertan flag raising ceremonies on March 1, 2013.
Whether it be the Legislature building or the Provincial Archives, a number of Alberta organizations are
taking part in these celebrations. A
variety of events
are planned whether you speak French at home or at school, or if you
enjoy learning about another culture.
