Culture Forum 2012 Summary
Culture Forum 2012 was held in Red Deer on Feb. 24 and 25 and involved nearly 400 representatives of Alberta's arts,
heritage, multicultural, nonprofit/voluntary, creative industries and corporate sectors. Delegates heard from speakers
and presenters; and participated in workshops covering a variety of topics. A broad range of ideas, best practices
and new innovations were discussed.

This document provides a brief overview of some of the government-led initiatives, programs, services and supports
undertaken that reflect our commitment to culture in Alberta communities.
The Spirit of Alberta
The Spirit of Alberta, our provincial cultural policy is working to ensure all Albertans have opportunities
to share, express and experience culture in our province.
Regional Dialogues
Regional dialogues with the nonprofit/voluntary and arts sectors were held in communities across Alberta in 2009,
2010 and 2011. The purpose was to bring stakeholders together with government to share ideas and collectively develop
solutions to help ensure the long-term growth and success of the sectors and support healthy and vibrant communities.
