Whether you're leading meetings with coworkers or learning groups for clients, facilitation skills will help you:
- increase participation,
- build consensus,
- handle difficult situations,
- enable groups to focus and work together creatively,
- get concrete results, and
- build commitment to action.
The Community Development facilitators design and facilitate sessions that cover facilitation theories and tools and/or give you practical hands-on learning opportunities.
We offer 3-Day Basic Facilitation Skills workshops semi-regularly around Alberta (next session is January 14-16, 2014 in Cochrane) that any non-profit or government employee can attend. We can also bring the same 3-Day Basic Facilitation Skills workshop to your organization for your staff and partners or create a special basic or advanced facilitation skills workshop based specifically on the unique needs of your organization and staff.
This document contains a brief, basic outline of what facilitation is about.
Email the Community Development facilitators to learn more about how we can help develop the facilitation skills of your staff and volunteer team.
