Framework for Collaboration

The purpose of the Framework is to strengthen the ability of both the GOA and the NPVS to build healthy, active communities by enabling them to collaborate in an interdependent partnership, while continuing to honour their unique strengths and contributions. The shared challenges and issues faced by the NPVS organizations and government can be addressed through the processes put in place by this Framework.

The Alberta Nonprofit/Voluntary Sector Initiative operates within a Memorandum of Understanding, the "Framework for Collaboration" between the Government of Alberta (GOA) and the Nonprofit Voluntary Sector (NPVS). It was endorsed by former ministers of Community Development and signed by the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing in August 2007.

The multi-sectoral Collaboration Committee appointed by Ministerial Order is responsible for implementing the Framework for Collaboration.
